423-C Grisaille Painting
Next Class: Fall 2008

Grisaille painting is a specific style of layering monochromatic glazes to achieve dimension in ornament. It is rich in history and yet is a simple and easy style to adopt into your daily practice. In this three day class you will compose a layout using the ancient grisaille technique. You will transform that composition on a plaster substrate, while committing to a series of composition techniques. You will conduct hands-on exercises to further your grisaille techniques.
