Class description
311-C Marbling II After you attend the first marbling course and have practiced those techniques, you are now ready to start applying those skills to realistic surfaces like columns and crown moldings. In the world of faux marble, matching a specific species is only one facet of creating marble finishes. Understanding how a mason would set stone is also crucial. Designing the layout of your marble into blocks that make sense can fool the human eye almost as much as the finish itself. In this two day class you will gain experience and confidence in your ability to create realistic marble finishes.: In this class you will review medium usage, bedding principles, veining principles, extracting color, movement, fractals, and glazing. You will understand on an intermediate level, how to use mediums and marbling tools to replicate marble as well as architectural and composition of marble. You will also learn by completing hands-on marbling exercises to assist in intermediate technique development and refinement.
