Knowing what paints and plasters are made of is crucial to the professional decorative painter. In the life of a decorative painter and plasterer most of thetime you are pushing the limits of technology attempting to create the perfect finish for your client. This constant experimentation with paint and plaster leads you to a few questions like: What is paint? What is plaster really? In this one-day class, you will learn paint, glaze, and plaster mediums. You will understand composition, binders, solvents, fillers, and driers. Also, you will learn how to use, make, and customize mediums to achieve certain compositions, drying times, textures, etc. You will have a better understanding of how mediums can be translated into a decorative finish by learning the base compositions of mediums that make up the finish and how to manipulate them.
