Class description
402-F Color and Culture Understanding regions of the world and their current and historical color pallettes is beneficial, especially when dealing with a designer or client whose project is specific to a geographic or historic environment. This course will dismantle color into specific geographic and historical regions. The class will disect the development of color and it's usage in specific cultures ranging from early primitive to ultra contemporary. The behavioral response of color in human beings varies from culture to culture. Understanding what generates these responses is the key to accurate color selection when attempting to replicate culture specific environments. The class will also review the histroy of human color development and find answers to why some cultures have a greater language for color than others.
