Scale, color concept and repeat will examined with a brief slide show and samples. The course will begin with students designing a decorative repeat pattern of their choice from the large selection in our library of decorative motifs. Student will choose from historical references in different styles, including organic and inorganic designs. Students will prepare panels, boards and canvases with different grounds to print on . Final drawings will be transferred onto acetate and/ or mylar and then used to create a silk screen or stencil. Students will be paired up to learn printing skills.
